SO · Where the money actually landsCastle Hills · San Antonio
Bookkeeping in San Antonio, closed by the end of the following month.
A reconciliation isn’t housekeeping. It’s the month telling you what actually happened. Not the tenth, and not live — closed, and explained in writing.
The ledger
Transaction by transaction, into books that will hold.
I keep books for small businesses, rentals and nonprofits in San Antonio. Every month is reconciled against the bank and the cards, categorized by rules that don’t drift, and closed by the end of the next month.
Then the numbers come with a written note: the P&L explained, the reasoning attached, so in eight months you can go back to it without calling me.

Same person on the return
The books feed the return. You explain your business once.
When the person who closes your months also prepares the return, April stops being a reconstruction. The structure questions get settled while there’s still time to act on them.

Questions
What people ask first.
Do we meet every month to go over the numbers?
No. The P&L is sent and explained in writing, with the reasoning attached. When a decision is close, I call before it’s made, not after.
What if my books are months behind?
We clean up the past months first and quote that separately, so you know exactly what the catch-up costs and what the monthly costs.
Which software do you use?
QuickBooks. If you’re on it already, we work in your file; if not, we set it up with a chart of accounts built to be read.
Do you file sales tax too?
Yes. Sales tax filings are kept on the schedule the Texas Comptroller sets for your business — monthly, quarterly or annual.
